Is there a law requiring a party to reimburse another party for copies of court transcripts?

In filing exceptions to a hearing officers report and recommendation, i have been ordered to obtain copies of the transcripts from the hearing. The defendant then also filed for exceptions. As the initial filer, I had to pay ($550.00) for copies of the transcipt. Is there some way, or a law, that would help me recoup half the cost of transcripts?
