Are "gay rights, marriage & all that jazz" a thinly veiled plot to unravel the Christian fabric of our peoples?

I have a friend who used to be gay for 20 years or so - then God delivered him. The gay community considers him a traitor. He is now a preacher. He said that he was very familiar with the gay community's agenda and that it was to silence the church.
