What to do if my nail hurts from using a nail filer to get the nail polish off?

Ok so I used a filer to get off my nail polish because i didn't have nail polish remover. and no stores where close by. the problem is i filed my nails down to much and now they are sore but my one finger(the middle one) hurts more when i straighten my middle finger i feel a lot of pressure in the middle part of the middle nail and i can see the redness it looks like blood want to come threw my nail cause its so thin..what should i use to make it thicker and stronger..and stop the hurting pressure? please help me out asap
